1 – Requires Heavy-Duty Enhanced Cooling Package (K5L).
2 – XFE model (eXtra Fuel Efciency).
3 – Requires MAX Trailering Package (NHT).
• Weight-carrying Hitch Limit: 2268 kg (5000 lb.) trailer with 272 kg (600 lb.) tongue weight. A weight-distributing hitch and sway control is required over a 2268 kg (5000 lb.) trailer weight.
• Ball hitch trailers over 2268 kg (5000 lb.) require the optional Trailering Special Equipment Package (Z82) plus Handling/Trailering suspension (Z85), High-Performance suspension (Z60) or Off-Road Suspension Package (Z71).
• Trailer tongue load weight should be 10 – 15% of the loaded trailer weight up to 454 kg (1000 lb.) – 543 kg (1200 lb.) on models with MAX Trailering Package (NHT).
• The addition of trailer tongue weight or kingpin weight must not cause the vehicle weights to exceed the Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (RGAWR) or Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR).
• 1500 Short Box Crew Cab models are not designed or intended to tow 5th-wheel (gooseneck) trailers. For 5th-wheel trailer ratings and Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) information please refer to gmc.gm.ca/trailering or see your GMC dealer.
