Local/Head Split
In Local/Head Split mode, all communications with the Host computer are disabled,
and the Scanning Platform drive mechanism is disengaged.
The Scanning Platform enters Local/Head Split mode when the drive clutch is
disengaged by the head split switch located in each of the Scanning Platform end
columns. The Scanning Platform also enters this mode when the air supply to the
air clutch drops below the correct pressure.
Since the drive mechanism is disabled in local/head split mode, the sensor head
package can only be positioned by hand.
