Descaling the coee maker
1. After disconnecting the appliance and allowing it to cool, ll the water tank with about 200ml of concentrated
lemon juice. You must use concentrate that is at least 50% juice. (This can be bought from most food stores).
Do not dilute it or use less-concentrated lemon juice.
2. Leave the lemon juice in the water tank for 6-8 hours.
3. After 6-8 hours of descaling, pour the lemon juice out through the top of the water tank. Never switch the
appliance on when it contains lemon juice!
4. Fill the water tank with cold water up to the MAX level indication, then connect the appliance to the mains
and switch it on. Don’t put any coee in the lter. Let the appliance boil the water until the jug is full. Empty
the jug, switch o the appliance and let it cool. The coee maker is now ready to use again.
Attention!
If this de-scaling procedure isn’t successful, you will need to contact a specialist engineer to have
the appliance cleaned. This should not be necessary if you carry out regular de-scaling as described
above.
Repairs to any damage caused by scale or by carrying out the de-scaling procedure are not covered
by the product guarantee.
Always pour out the lemon concentrate used for de-scaling and the water used for rinsing. Do not
drink it!
Don’t leave the lemon concentrate in the appliance for longer than 12 hours. Always clean the
appliance with fresh water (as described) after using the lemon concentrate.
