BandScanning
BandscanningrapidlycheckseveryfrequencywithinyourDX15's
operatingrangeof118.000MHzthrough136.975MHzsequentially.In
BandScanningmode,theDX15willpauseonfrequenciesthathavea
strongenoughsignaltobreaksquelchsothattheycanbeheard.
ToenterBandScanningmode:
Exitanyothermodebypu
shingtheCLRbuttononthekeypad.
AdjustSquelch(seesectionSettingSquelchfordetails)sothatthe
speakerisquiet.Ifasignalisreceivedduringscanningthescanning
willpause,allowingyoutolistentothereceivedsignal.Whenband
scanningyourDX15mayreceiveavarietyofsign
alsatwidely‐varying
signalstrengths.SettingSquelchtoohighwillallowonlythevery
strongestsignalstobeheard.SettingSquelchtoolowwillresultinthe
scanbeingstoppedfrequently,oftenonnoisyfrequenciesthatcannot
beunderstood.Thus,settingSquelchproperlyforbandscanningwill
necessarilybeacompromise.
Toscanuppushandhold(foratleast1second)the►button.Toscan
downpushandholdthe◄button.
DuringBandScanning(oranyoftheotherscanoperations‐seesection
MemoryScanningandLastTenFrequenciesScanningfordetails),the
decimalpointbetweenthedigitsflashestoindicatethatascannin
gmode
isactive.
WhenasignalisreceivedthatexceedstheSquelchsetting,Scanmode
willpauseforaslongasthesignalisbeingreceived.Scanningwillresume
afewsecondsafterthelastsignalisreceived.Toforcetheradioto
continuescanningwhileBandS
canninghaspausedonafrequency,press
eitherthe◄or►buttonto"nudge"BandScanningtocontinueitsscan.
