Tecan, Columbus Strip Washer
The Columbus is a fully automated microplate strip washer, combining high flexibility with
excellent performance and ease of use. With the optional liquid detection manifold, the
barcode wand and a serial printer the Columbus provides full process control.

8-, 12-, or 16-channel manifold for 96-well microplates

Up to four liquid channels, software selectable

Crosswise aspiration, overflow washing, bottom washing

Any liquid bottle can be used due to the non-pressurised dispensing and
aspirating system

Up to 30 methods can be stored for easy recall and operation

Programming of the instrument can be done either with the built in keyboard/dis-
play or by WinWash via a PC
Options include, liquid sensor, barcode pen, Columbus PC software, serial printer.
Optional Fill Verification
The optional fill verification manifold enables checking of liquid delivery to every single well.
This is conditional for positive process control.
Optional Control and Report
The Columbus can be integrated into a robotic system or automatic microplate processor. It
can be controlled through RS232 or optional RS485. Fill verification, barcode identification
and connected serial printer allows for complete documentation of microplate washing.
