6. To carefully remove the display:
a. Using a flat blade screwdriver, each person should hold the silicone gasket down
where it is visible between the posts at the top and bottom of the chassis (see
figure above).
b. With their free hand, each person should gently lift one side of the display
module, attempting to keep the silicone gasket in place on the display filter.
If the gasket lifts off the display filter at any time, inspect the filter beneath the section
where the gasket lifted to ensure the conductive coating around the perimeter of the filter
is still intact. Try not to disturb the rest of the gasket/filter interface as you do this. To
inspect the filter, look for a slight color variation between the perimeter conductive
coating and the rest of the filter (see the figure below). (Tilting the front assembly at
different angles under a bright light can help you see the color variation of the conductive
coating.) The slight color variation should be continuous around the perimeter under the
gasket. If there is a break in this coating, you must replace the front assembly with the
display filter.
Caution In the next step, if the gasket lifts off the display filter at any point, you
must inspect the display filter to verify that the conductive coating on the filter is
still intact. See the steps below.
