Fuze Mini Sensorless
Brushless Motor. Fuze brushless motors are high-torque motors
designed for sport and racing applications. This sensorless motor fea-
tures the same basic dimensions and mounting patterns as brushed
standard 280- and 370-size motors. This motor also offers high
performance over a longer lifetime with little to no maintenance.

INSTALLATION OF THE MOTOR
Make sure the motor mounting screws are long enough to properly
seat into the motor. Ensure the screws do not enter into the motor
too far, which could damage the motor. The maximum depth that the
motormountingscrewscanenterintothemotorisapproximately1/8
in(3mm).
When installing the motor, ensure the gear mesh is smooth with no
binding. The vehicle’s motor mounts usually feature adjustable slotted
mounting holes so that you can adjust and ensure the gear mesh is
correct.
Propergearmeshisimportanttotheperformanceofthevehicle.
When the gear mesh is too loose, the spur gear could be damaged by
thepiniongearofthemotor.Ifthemeshistootight,speedcouldbe
limitedandthemotorandESCwilloverheat.Insertasmallpieceof
paper in between the pinion and spur gears as you are installing them.
Pushthegearstogetherwhiletighteningthemotorscrews.Remove
the small piece of paper by rotating the spur gear until it comes out.
Check the mesh at multiple points on the spur gear before finalizing
the motor mounting position.
GEARING
Impropergearingwillcauseexcessiveheatbuildupinthemotorand
speed control. Use your vehicle’s instruction manual in order to find
themanufacturer’srecommendedpinionsize.Itisbesttomonitorthe
motor’s operating temperature when you are operating on new and
different tracks or racing surfaces, changing to a new motor or mak-
ing gearing changes. Your motor’s operating temperature should never
exceed160°F(71°C)..Thebestplacetomonitorthemotor’stem-
peratureisatthecenteroftheendbell.Ifeitherthemotororspeed
controltemperatureishigherthan160°F(71°C).aftera5-minuterun,
the gearing should be lowered until both the ESC and the motor are
under this temperature. The cooler the speed control runs, the better
the overall system performance.
CONNECTING THE ESC
ConnecttheESC’s3outputwirestothemotorsinputwires.Ifthe
motor happens to run in the oposite direction for your vehicle type,
reverse any 2 motor wires.
Follow the ESC manufacturer’s instructions for further setup and
programming.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
•Thismotorrequirestheuseofasensorless-compatiblebrush-
less speed control. Failure to use the correct speed control may
resultindamagetothemotorand/orspeedcontrol.Wehighly
recommend using the Fuze
™
Mini Brushless Waterproof ESC
(DYN4840WP)withthismotor.
•Whenmountingthemotor,besurethecorrectscrewlengthis
used, ensuring no damage is done to the inside of the motor.
We suggest you use the mounting hardware included with your
original motor. The use of screws that are too long will damage
the motor and void any warranty.
•Youmayconnectthethreemotorwiresdirectlytothecontroller
with solder or use the gold-plated bullet connectors supplied with
each motor. Be sure to use heat-shrink tubing to properly insulate
the wires so they do not touch each other and short out. Shorting
may damage the motor and speed control.
•Propercoolingofthemotorisimportantduringoperation.Higher
capacity batteries with higher discharge rates can cause extreme
motortemperaturesduringoperation.Itistheresponsibilityofthe
user to monitor the temperature and prevent overheating. Over-
heating of the motor is not covered under any warranty. Never let
themotorgetabove160°F(71°C).Thebestplacetomonitorthe
motor’stemperatureisatthecenteroftheendbell.Ifyoucannot
touch the motor for at least 2 seconds, it is too hot.
•Oncethebatteryisconnected,pleaseuseextremecaution.Stay
clear of the rotating shaft and pinion gear. This spinning shaft can
be very dangerous as the motor produces high amounts of torque.
GENERAL INFORMATION FOR BRUSHLESS MOTORS AND ESC USE
Brushlessmotorsandelectronicspeedcontrols(ESC)arehigh-performanceequipment.Brushlessmotorcomponentsaremorepowerful
than brushed motors, but are still subject to damage from overheating.
To extend the life of your motor, always:
•Usepropercooling.
•Usegearingproperlyadaptedtothemotor.
•Useahigh-powerbatteryequippedwithhigh-powerconnectors.
•UseanESCsetupproperlyadaptedtothemotorandyourdriving
style.
•UsebrakesetupsthatdonotoverheatthemotororESC.
•Usesafesettingsifyoucanadjustthemotor’stiming.
Remember to only change the timing one mark at a time.
•Checkthemotor’stemperatureaftermodifyingaparameter.
The recommended maximum motor temperature limit is 160°F
(71°C).Overheatingcanburnthecoilsand/ormeltsolderjoints
inside the motor.
•Measurethemotor’stemperaturetoensureitdoesnotoverheat
with your ESC settings, gearing and continuous operation.
To extend the life of your ESC, always:
•Ensureyoufullyunderstandthevarioussettingsavailableinyour
ESCbeforeyouusethem.Impropersettingscanincreasethe
likelihood of overheating.
•ReducebrakingstressontheESCbydecreasingthebrakepower
setting.
•Limittheusageofdragbrake.Toomuchdragbrakecanstress
the components and lead to overheating.
•Avoidrapidinputchangesfromforwardandreverse.
•CloselymanageyourESCsetupandchangethesettingsif
overheating occurs often.

EINBAU DES MOTORS
Die Schrauben, mit denen der Motor befestigt wird, müssen stets
lang genug sein, um richtig im Motor zu sitzen. Die Schrauben dürfen
jedoch auch nicht zu weit in den Motor hineinreichen, da er sonst
beschädigtwerdenkönnte.DieMotormontageschraubendürfen
maximal3mmindenMotoreindringen.WennSiedenMotorinIhr
Fahrzeug einbauen, muss der Zahneingriff unbedingt korrekt sein, also
reibungslos erfolgen, ohne zu haken.
DieMotorhalterungdesFahrzeugsverfügtnormalerweiseüberLan-
glöcher für die Montage, sodass Sie den Zahneingriff anpassen und
sicherstellen können, dass er korrekt ist.
DaskorrekteZahnankenspiel(wiedieZahnradzähneineinander
greifen)istvongroßerBedeutungfürdieFahrzeugleistung.Wenn
der Zahneingriff zu lose ist, kann das Stirnrad durch das Motorritzel
beschädigtwerden.WennderZahnankenspielzufestist,kanndie

GETRIEBEÜBERSETZUNG
EinefalschgewählteGetriebeübersetzungkannextremeHitzeim
Motor und Regler verursachen. Bitte sehen Sie für die empfohle-
nen Zahnrad- und Ritzelgrößen in der Bedienungsanleitung ihres
Fahrzeugesnach.FahrenSieaufneuenodergeändertenStrecken
oderhabenSiedieÜbersetzunggeändert,istesdasBestedie
Motortemperatur zu überprüfen. Die Motortemperatur sollte 71º
nicht übersteigen. Die Temperatur können Sie am besten am Ende
derMotorglocke(überdemSensorkabelanschluß)messen.Beträgt
dieTemperaturdesMotorsoderReglersüber71ºnach5Minuten
FahrzeitsolltedieÜbersetzunggeändertwerdenbisdieTemperaturen
darunter liegen. Je niedriger die Systemtemperatur ist, desto besser
wird das System arbeiten.

Länge,damitdasInneredesMotorsnichtbeschädigtwird.Sie
solltendieMontageschraubenverwenden,diemitIhremOriginal-
motor mitgeliefert wurden. Wenn die verwendeten Schrauben zu
langsind,wirdderMotorbeschädigt,unddieGarantieerlischt.
•SiekönnendiedreiMotordrähtedirektandenRegleranlötenoder

contrôleurparsoudure,ouvouspouvezutiliserlesconnecteurs
bananesplaquésorfournisavecchaquemoteur.Assurez-vous
d’utiliser une gaine thermorétractable pour isoler correctement
les fils afin qu’ils ne se touchent pas, et éviter les courts-circuits.

c’est qu’il est trop chaud.

INSTALLATION DU MOTEUR
Assurez-vousquelesvisdemontagedumoteursontassezlongues
pour être fixées correctement dans le moteur. Veillez cependant à ce
quelesvisnepénètrentpastropprofondémentdanslemoteur,cequi
pourraitl’endommager.Lesvisdemontagedumoteurpeuventêtre
enfoncées au maximum à 3mm de profondeur dans le moteur.
Lorsquevousinstallezlemoteurdansvotrevéhicule,ilesttrès
importantquel’engrenagesoitcorrectetlisse,sansgrippage.Le
support moteur du véhicule présente généralement des fentes de
montage réglables, permettant d’ajuster l’engrenage et de s’assurer
qu’il est correct.
Unengrenagecorrect(c.-à-d.lafaçondontlesdentsdes’engrènent)
est essentiel aux bonnes performances du véhicule. Si l’engrenage est
trop lâche, la couronne peut être endommagée par le pignon conique
du moteur. S’il est trop ajusté, la vitesse peut être limitée, et le moteur
etlecontrôleurélectroniquedevitesse(ESC)risquentdesurchauffer.
Insérezunpetitmorceaudepapierentrelepignonetlacouronne
quandvouslesinstallez.Poussezlesroueslorsquevousserrezles
vis du moteur. Retirez le morceau de parier en faisant tourner la
couronne,jusqu’àcequ’ilsoitcomplètementdégagé.Assurez-vous
de vérifier l’engrenage à plusieurs endroits de la couronne avant de
déterminer définitivement la position de montage du moteur.
TRANSMISSION
Un rapport de transmission inadéquat peut entraîner une surchauffe
dumoteuretducontrôleur.Référez-vousaumanueldevotrevéhicule
pourvoirlesdimensionsrecommandéesdespignons.Ilestimportant
de surveiller la température du moteur quand vous roulez sur un
nouveau circuit ou une nouvelle surface ou quand vous venez de
changerlepignon.Latempératuredefonctionnementnedoitjamais
dépasser71ºC.Lemeilleuremplacementpourmesurerlatempéra-
tureestaucentreduasquearrièredumoteur.Silatempératuredu
moteurouducontrôleurdépasse71ºCaprès5minutesd’utilisation,
le pignon devra être remplacé par un plus petit jusqu’à l’obtention
d’unetempératurecorrecte.Pluslatempératureserabasse,meilleur
le rendement sera.
BRANCHEMENT DU CONTRÔLEUR
Connectezles3câblesdesortieducontrôleuraux3câblesd’entrée
du moteur. si le moteur tourne dans le sens opposé à celui qui corre-
spond à votre type de véhicule, inversez le branchement de 2 câbles.
Suivezlesinstructionsfourniesparlefabricantdevotrecontrôleur
pour effectuer les réglages et la programmation.

Une surchauffe peut entraîner la destruction du bobinage et le
décollement des aimants du moteur.

INSTALLAZIONE DEL MOTORE
Accertarsisemprechelevitidimontaggiodelmotoresianosuf-
ficientemente lunghe per un alloggiamento appropriato all’interno del
motore. Tuttavia, accertarsi che le viti non entrino troppo in profondità
nelmotoreperevitarepossibilidannialmotore.Laprofonditàmas-
simanoacuipossonopenetrarelevitidimontaggiodelmotoreèdi
circa 3 mm.
Durantel’installazionedelmotoreall’internodelveicolo,èmoltoim-
portante che l’innesto del gruppo di ingranaggi sia corretto e regolare
senza inceppamenti. Generalmente, i montanti del motore del veicolo
dispongono di fori di montaggio con fessura regolabili che possono
essere regolati in modo da garantire un corretto innesto del gruppo di
ingranaggi.
Un innesto del gruppo di ingranaggi appropriato (come il combacia-
mentodeidentidegliingranaggi)èimportanteperleprestazionidel
veicolo.Quandol’innestodelgruppodiingranaggiètroppolento,la
ruota conica del motore potrebbe danneggiare l’ingranaggio cilindrico.
Sel’innestoètroppostretto,lavelocitàpotrebbeesserelimitata
eilmotoreel’ESCsisurriscalderanno.Inserireunpiccolopezzo
di carta tra pignone e corona. Spingere contemporaneamente gli
ingranaggi mentre si stringono le viti del motore. Togliere il pezzo di
cartaruotandolacoronanchénonvienefuori.Accertarsidivericare
l’innesto su più punti sull’ingranaggio cilindrico prima di finalizzare la
posizione di montaggio del motore.
INGRANAGGI DI RIDUZIONE
Un riduttore inadeguato causerà una produzione eccessiva di calore
sia nel motore che nel regolatore di velocità. Controllare sul manuale
del veicolo in uso, quale sia la dimensione del pignone consigliata dal
produttore. Quando si sta usando un motore nuovo o si sono fatti dei
cambiamentinelrapportodiriduzione,lacosamiglioreècontrollarela
temperaturaoperativadelmotoresudiversepistee/otipidisuperci.
Latemperaturadelmotorenondevemaisuperarei71°C.Ilpunto
miglioreperrilevarelatemperaturadelmotoreèalcentrodelsup-
porto posteriore. Se la temperatura del motore o del regolatore supera
i71°Cdopo5minutidiutilizzo,ilrapportodiriduzionevaabbassato
finché la temperatura di motore e regolatore scende sotto questo
valore.Piùfreddogirailregolatoredivelocità,miglioriprestazioni
generali si otterranno dal sistema.
COLLEGAMENTO DEL REGOLATORE (ESC)
Collegare i 3 fili in uscita dall’ESC ai 3 fili in entrata sul motore.
Perulterioriindicazioninelleregolazionienellaprogrammazione,
consultare le istruzioni del costruttore dell’ESC.

Unsurriscaldamentopuòbruciaregliavvolgimentie/oscioglierele
saldature all’interno del motore.
• Misurarelatemperaturadelmotoreperesserecertichenon
surriscaldi con certe impostazioni dell’ESC, degli ingranaggi e con
l’utilizzo continuo.
Per allungare la vita del proprio ESC, bisogna sempre:
• Primadiusarel’ESC,bisognaesserecertidiaverebencompreso
i vari settaggi disponibili. Regolazioni inadeguate possono aumen-
tare il surriscaldamento.
• Ridurrelostressdeifrenisull’ESC,diminuendolapotenzadel
freno.
• Limitarel’usodellaforzafrenante(dragbrake);altrimentisistres-
sano troppo i componenti e si arriva al surriscaldamento.
• Evitaredidarecomanditroppobruschisulmotoresiainavantiche
indietro.
• Gestireconattenzionelaprogrammazionedell’ESCemodicarei
parametri se si nota spesso un surriscaldamento.

una guaina termoretrattile per isolare in modo appropriato i cavi,
in modo che non si tocchino tra di loro causando cortocircuiti. Un
cortocircuito potrebbe danneggiare il motore e il controllo della
velocità.

duranteilfunzionamento.Lanuovatecnologiahaportatoabatterie
con una maggiore capacità con regimi di scarica maggiori, che
