Rate of Climb Indicator
The AN5825 Rate of Climb Indicator shows the rate of ascent or descent of the aircraft. The
instrument is graduated from 0 to 6,000 ft. in both positive and negative directions and indicates
vertical speed in feet per minute. The face is scaled to 100 ft between 0 and 1,000 ft, and to 500 ft
thereafter. The Rate of Climb Indicator is used to maintain a constant altitude when turning and to
establish a definite and constant rate of climb or descent when flying on instruments.
