NORMAL PROCEDURES
Prime and start having completed this left to right check, you’re now ready to start the engine
in accordance with the procedure provided below. Prior to doing so, the following items need to
be checked, depending on the mission:
o Before any flight, check the landing gear warning lights by pushing on the lamp
housings.
o If you expect to use oxygen, check the gauge for a pressure of 400 PSI.
o If night flying is anticipated, check all essential lights instrument fluorescent lights,
cockpit swivel lights, position and recognition lights, and landing lights.
Start-Up
After completing the Pre-start check, proceed with engine start-up as follows:
Prime the engine three to four seconds if it is cold, one if hot.
Raise the starter switch cover and hold switch at START.
