TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION
Very little or no
smoke coming
from appliance.
• Not enough pellets. Add wood pellets to the pellet hopper.
Temperature is
ashing on con-
trol panel display
Appliance temperature has
fallen below 120F.
• Fire pot re is at risk of going out. If the
temperature is not rising above 120F,
check the hopper for any obstructions.
Check the re pot for ash build up
and follow the Care and Maintenance
instructions for safely removing
ash. Check the internal temperature
gauge/probe and follow the Care and
Maintenance instructions for cleaning.
Ensure that air is owing through the re
pot and follow the Cooking System Check
if air ow is weak. Conrm that the auger
is rotating and there is no blockage in the
auger tube. Avoid opening the lid on a
frequent basis.
Flare-ups. • Meat contains excessive
amounts of fat.
• Cooking temperature is too
high.
• Grease build-up.
• Trim the appropriate amount of fat before
cooking.
• Lower the temperature as needed.
• Clean the grease tray, according to the
instructions.
Persistent
grease re.
• Too much build-up on grease
drip tray.
• Turn the dial to "Shut Down Cycle" and
keep the lid closed to allow the re to burn
out. DO NOT use water to extinguish
the re. Personal injury my result. Allow
the appliance to completely cool before
cleaning the grease tray.
