TURBOTEST 500B Series
Single Mode Return/Loss Test Set
The TURBOTEST 500B Series offers the latest technology in a single fiber bi-directional loss
and return loss testing. The T500B is a handheld fiber optic test and measurement instrument.
It performs Optical Power, Optical Return Loss, and Optical Loss measurements. Five
compact models are available, including the 3-wavelength (1310/1550/1625) T506B and
(1310/1550/1490) T506B-FTTH. An optional dedicated digital talk option is available for full
time/full duplex communication between test operators while testing other fibers in a
bundle.
The T500B can store up to 1000 records (40 files) in any combination of its four operating
modes and if any configuration other than TRIPLE wavelength is selected. If the configuration
is TRIPLE wavelength, the T500B can store up to 500 records (40 files). Stored test results can
be transferred to a PC for a complete report generation.

Powered by an internal rechargeable Lithium-lon battery, the T500B comes with protective rubber boots, PC
software and manual, AC adapter/charger, RS-232 serial cable, APC/UPC reference cable, adapter cap, mandrel,
screwdriver, hex screwdriver, warranty registration card, user’s guide, and carry case.
All Turbotest 500B models include APC/UPC test jumper, software, adapter cap, serial cable, hex driver, screwdriver,
mandrel, AC adapter, protective rubber boot, user’s guide and carry case. A headset is included when ordered with
talk option. Specify either SC or FC connector type at the end of the part number (e.g. T504B-Y-SC is a 1310/1550
Turbotest w/ 1550nm Talk Set Option and an
SC connector.)
ORL 3B
Multimode Return/Loss Test Set
The ORL 3B is a handheld fiber optic test and measurement instrument that offers two modes
of testing. It performs optical return loss measurements (ORL mode) and operates as an optical
power meter (OPM mode).
The ORL 3B can store up to 1000 records (40 files) in any combination of its two operating
modes. With the supplied PC software, saved test results can be transferred to a PC for storage,
printing, and analysis. The ORL3B operates from an internal rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery
pack or external AC power adapter.
All ORL 3B models include software, adapter cap and carry case. AC adapters are available
and sold separately. Specify either ST, SC or FC connector type at the end of the part number
(e.g. ORL3B-MM-SC is an ORL3B with an SC connector.)
