5.5 The Service.conf
The file Service.conf in the directory /etc/opt/DVS/Venice/
stores various configuration settings. Among them you can find the
user name and the IP address used by the VENICE server software. You
can change these settings to your liking (see section “IP Address Con-
figuration” on page 2-5).
Whenever, you change one of the configuration files of VENICE, the
VENICE server software and the VENICE client software must be re-
started (see section “Controlling the VENICE Server Software” on
page 5-2).
Syntax: logwatch <option> <log module> [<argu-
ment>]
Remarks: For further options and help information just enter
logwatch.
Options: --dump Dumps all log information stored in
memory of one or more log modules
to text files.
--print Activates the print mode for a single
log module. New log entries will be
displayed at stdout until terminated.
--watch Activates the watch mode of one or
more log modules. New log entries
will be written to text files until ter-
minated.
Log modules: The log modules for the individual video channels are
named AvusLog<#channel no.>.
Arguments: --outdir Specifies an output directory for
watch and dump mode. If not speci-
fied, the default directory /var/
opt/DVS/logwatched/ (depends
on user) will be used.
All other settings of the configuration files should not be al-
tered.
