Updating Firmware
Matrix
6
allows firmware updates through an attached USB flash drive.
Firmware version can be checked using the OSD menu and accessing the information screen.
• Firmware version 0101 (filename M6FW0101.BIN) displays as 01.01 on the information screen
Two files are required to update the Matrix
6
firmware (both available from DVDO.com as new firmware is
released), a .BIN file which contains the actual firmware binary and an .OSD file which contains the fonts,
text, and graphics for the OSD.
• The two files must be placed in the root directory of a FAT or FAT32 formatted USB flash drive Matrix
• The files must be in the format M6FWxxxx.BIN and M6FWxxxx.OSD where xxxx is the version number of
the firmware.
• ALL letters are upper case, including the extensions of BIN and OSD.
• The two files must have the same firmware version before programming will be allowed.
• Only one pair of firmware files can exist in the root directory or firmware will not program.
There are two methods for upgrading firmware: a) through OSD and b) the Update button:
