Recommended Systems
Application
Brush: Nylon/Polyester
Roller: Synthetic, 3/8" Nap
Clean Up/Disposal
• Clean hands and tools with warm, soapy water.
• Promptly wipe up spills and spatters with a damp cloth.
• In event of a spill, absorb with inert material such as sand or
kitty litter.
• Dispose of empty container or unused portion in accordance
with local, state, and federal regulations.
Previously Painted Surfaces:
• Dimensions® Brushed Suede applies best over non-slick surfaces,
so a base coat of Dutch Boy® flat or eggshell paint is
recommended over glossy paints.
• 2 coats of Dimensions® Brushed Suede
Bare Surfaces: Drywall, Plaster, Masonry, Primed Metal, and
Wood:
• 1 coat with an appropriate primer
• 2 coats of Dimensions® Brushed Suede
Maintenance
Freshly painted surfaces may be washed after 30 days. Clean with
mild, non-abrasive, non-oily cleanser and water. When it is time
to repaint, two coats of any Dutch Boy® paint will completely
cover the subtle texture of Dimensions® Brushed Suede.
• Apply when surface, air and product temperatures are above
50˚F. Paint dries best between 65˚F and 85˚F.
• Stir paint thoroughly. Mix gallons together when using more
than one gallon of the same product. Do not thin.
• Starting at the top corner of the wall, cut in 18” strips of
Brushed Suede across the ceiling and down the corner with a
brush.
• Using a high-quality 3/8" nap synthetic roller cover, fill in the
18" x 18" section using just enough pressure to spread the
product evenly, while rolling over the cut-in area to texture it.
• Continue down the wall by cutting in at the corner, and
rolling 18" x 18" sections all the way down the wall, reloading
the roller for each section.
• When the column is complete, follow with a light, continuous
sweep of the roller from ceiling to floor without reloading the
roller. This will smooth the finish.
• Repeat this process all the way across the wall and allow to
dry at least 4 hours.
• It is normal for the first coat to look somewhat uneven – this
will be corrected with the second coat.
• Apply the second coat with a 3" brush in a sweeping criss-
cross pattern of overlapping X’s over the entire surface.
• When dry, the wall will have complete coverage and the
appearance of hand-brushed suede. Two coats are required.
