INSPECTION, REPAIRS, AND TROUBLESHOOTING
Cause
Remedy
The diesel engine will not start
Not enough Fuel
Add fuel (Diesel)
Fuel cock is not in the “ON” position
Turn it to the “ON” position
High pressure pump and fuel nozzle may
not be injecting enough fuel.
Remove the fuel nozzle and clean or
repair it if necessary
Speed control lever is not in the “RUN”
position
Set the control lever to the “RUN”
position
Check the level of engine lube oil.
Standard level of lube oil should be
between upper line “H” and lower line
“L”
Speed and force to pull the recoil starter
is not enough
Start the diesel engine as per
requirements of start procedures of
operation
Fuel nozzle is dirty
Clean fuel nozzle
Storage battery exhausted
Charge or replace storage battery
The generator
does not produce
power
Main switch (breaker) is not turned on
Turn the switch to the “ON” position
Bad plug or socket contact
Adjust the legs of plug
The rated speed of generator cannot
have reached
Adjust to rated speed as per
requirements
Fuse broken
Replace fuse
Main breaker may be defective
Replace breaker
Too low of voltage
Rated speed of generator can not
be reached
Slightly adjust speed lever to rated
speed (Confirm that voltage meter is
not defective, replace if necessary)
Voltage meter is broken and pointer
indicates too low
Confirm that voltage meter is not
defective, replace if necessary
AVR broken or wire disconnected
(Voltage shows approximately 80V)
Replace AVR or check wire
connections
Stopped automatically
after running for a
period
low oil pressure protection system is
activated
Add engine lube oil. Oil level should
be between upper line “H” and lower
line “L”
Speed regulating lever of generator
switched off or cable/spring came lose.
