SERVICING YOUR GENERATOR
NOTICE
Operating the engine without a n air filter, or with a damaged air filter, will allow dirt to enter the eng ine, causing ra pid
engine wear.
FOAM AIR FILTER CLEANING
A d irty foam a ir filter will restrict air flow to the carburetor, reducing engine performance. If you op erate the generator
in very dusty areas, c lea n the foam air f ilter more frequently than specif ied in the Main tenance Schedule.
1. Clean the foam air f ilter in w arm soapy water, rinse, and allow t o dry thoroughly, or clean in non-flammable sol vent
and allow t o dry.
2. Dip th e foam air filter in clean engine oil, then squeeze ou t all excess oil. The engine will smoke when started if too
much oil is left in th e foam a ir filter.
SEDIMENT CUP CLEANING
1. Turn the fuel valve lever to the OFF position, then remove the Sedim ent cu p an d the O- ring. Discard the O-ring.

Wipe dirt from the air cleaner housing and cover using a moist rag. Be careful to prevent dirt from entering the air
duct that leads to the carburetor.
