SERVICING YOUR GENERATOR
ENGINE OIL CHANGE
Drain the oil wh ile the engin e is wa rm to assure rapid and complete draining.
1. Placethegeneratoronwoodenblockstomakespaceforplacingasuitablecontainer.
2. Open the maintenance over to access th e oil filler cap.
3. Re move the oil filler cap, oil drain bolt and sealing was h e r, and d rain the oil in to the c o ntainer.
4. Install a new sealing washer and the oil drain bolt, and tighten the bolt securely.
5. Re f ill to the upper limit ma rk on the dipstick with the recommended oil. Tighten the oil filler cap securely .

Please dispose of used motor oil in a man n er that is compatible with the environment. We su ggest
you t ake it in a sealed container to your local service station or recycling center for reclamation. Do not throw it in the
trash, pour it on
the ground, or pour it down a drain.
OIL FILTER CHANGE
1. Drain the engine oil, and tighten the drain bolt securely.
2. Re move the oil filter, and drain the oil in to a su itable container.
D iscard th e used oil filter.
3. Clean the filter mounting base, and coat the O-ring of the new oil filter with c lea n engine oil.
4. Screw on the new oil filter by hand, until the O-ring contacts the filter m ounting base, and then use an
oil filter soc ket tool to tig hten the filter an additiona l 7/8 turn.
TORQUE: 12N·m (1.2kgf·m)
5. Refill the crankcase with th e specifie d amount of the recommended Oil (see pages 36 and 38). Reinstall the oil filler
cap.
6. Start the engine and check for oil filter leaks.
7. Stop the engine, an d check th e oil level as desc rib ed on
page 21. If neces sary, ad d oil to th e upper limit mark on
the dipstick.
