Gasolines Containing Alcohol
If you decide t o use a gasoline contain ing alc o hol (ga sohol), b e sure its oct ane rating is at least as high as that
recommended by THIS. There are two types of ‘‘gasohol’’: o ne containing ethanol, and the other containing methanol.
D
o not use gasohol that contains more than 10% ethanol. Do not use gasoline containing methanol (methyl or wo od
alcohol) that does not also contain cosolvents and corrosion inhibitors for methanol. Never use gasoline containing more
than 5% methanol, even i f it has cosolvents an d corrosion inhibitors.
NOTE:
Fuel system dama ge or e ngine perfor mance problems resulting from the use of fuels that contain alcohol is not
covered under the warranty.
THIS cannot endorse the use of fuels containing methanol since ev idenc e of their suitability is as yet incomplete.
Before buying fuel from an unfamiliar station, try to find out If the fuel contains alcohol, if it does, confirm the type
and perce nta ge of alcohol use d.
If you notice any undesirable op er ating symptoms wh ile using a gasoline that contain s alcohol, or o ne that you thin k
contains alcohol, switch to a gasoline that you know does not contain alcohol.
ENGINE OIL LEVE L CHECK
Check the engine oil level with the generator on a level surface and the engine stopped.
1. Remove the oil level dipstick and wipe it clean.
2. Fully insert

he d ip stick, th en remove it to check the oil level.
3. If the level is ne a r or below the lower limit ma rk on the dipstick, open th e
main tenance cover to access the oil filler cap. Remo ve th e oil f iller cap , and
fill with the recommended oil to the upp er limit mark.
4. Reinstall the oil level dipstick and filler cap.

The Oil Alert system will automatica lly stop the engine b efore the oil level falls below safe limits. However, to avoid the
inconvenienc e of an unexpected shu tdown, check the oil level regularly.
