Incorrectly setting needle bar height can result in the fol-
lowing malfunctions:
After inserting a shorter needle:
• Damage to the hook tip
• Damage to the needle
After inserting a longer needle:
• Damage to the hook tip
• Damage to the needle

1. Turn handwheel until the needle (3) is at top dead center.
2. Loosen the screws (2).
3. Pull the needle (3) down and out.
4. Insert the new needle.
5. Important: Align the needle so the groove in the needle shaft
(4) is facing the hook and is parallel to the hook tip's direction
of movement.
6. Tighten the screws (2).
ATTENTION
Incorrect alignment of the needle can damage the
machine.
Make sure the hook tip does not come into contact with the
needle.
