Setting needle thread tension on Classic machines
For Classic machines, the key (3) can be used while sewing to
switch to a second thread tension, e.g., if different material should
be used in the middle of a seam.

1. Set the tension on the auxiliary tensioner (4), sew a test seam
and cut the thread.
The end of the thread in the needle should be between
60 - 80 mm.
If the thread is shorter:
Gradually reduce the tension on the auxiliary tensioner until
the desired length is reached.
If the thread is longer:
Gradually increase the tension on the auxiliary tensioner until
the desired length is reached.
2. Press the key for switching thread tension (3)
until the LED turns off.
The auxiliary tensioner (1) will release pneumatically.
3. Sew on material requiring a low needle thread tension and
regulate the tension on the primary tensioner (2) until the
proper thread interlacing is reached.
4. Press key (3) to switch thread tension.
The key illuminates and the auxiliary tensioner (1) engages.
5. Sew on material requiring a high needle thread tension and
regulate the tension on the auxiliary tensioner (1) until the
proper thread interlacing is reached.

(4) – Pre-tensioner
