Fig. 3: Changing the needle
Change the needle as follows:
1. Loosen the screw (2) and remove the needle.
2. Insert the new needle into the hole in the needle bar (1) until
it reaches the end stop.
Important
The groove (4) must face towards the hook tip (3).
3. Tighten the screw (2).
Sequence
After changing to a different needle thickness, always adjust
the
clearance between the hook and the needle
( Service Instructions).
Disturbance
An incorrect hook distance can cause the following disturbances:
• Changing to a thinner needle:Missing stitches
Thread damage
• Changing to a thicker needle:Damage to the hook tip
Damage to the needle
(1) - Needle bar
(2) - Screw
(3) - Hook tip
(4) - Groove
