5.13 Setting the downforce pressure for the
upper transport foot
The downforce pressure for the upper transport foot (gripper
transport) is set using the adjusting wheel (1) on the machine
head. The pressure can be adjusted continuously by turning the
wheel.
Correct setting
The material being sewn does not slip and is correctly transported.
The correct pressure depends on the material to be sewn.
Important: The upper transport foot must lie on the transporter
when checking the upper transport foot downforce pressure.
Faults due to incorrectly set sewing foot pressure
• Excessively high pressure: Tearing of the material being
sewn
• Excessively low pressure: Slipping of the material being
sewn
