2.6Setting the top feed
2.6.1 G eneralnotes
The top feed drive isindependentofthe bottom feed and does not
change autom atically w hen the stitch lengthis changed.
Therefore the stitch length has tobedeterm ined before the top feed
canbeset.
The average value foroverlock unitsis2.8 m m perstitch resulting in
3.5stitches percm .
2.6.2Topfeed-dog -Zero point
Caution:Risk ofinjury!
Switch the m ainswitch off.
C heck and adjustthe top feed onlywiththe sew ing unitsw itched off.
Standard and checking
The zero pointshouldbeatthe rearreversalpoint2 ofthe top
feed-dog 1.
W hen the needle(coming fro m the top)is 5 m m above the throatplate
top,the top feed-dog 1 should notm ove w hen shifting the stitch
regulator3.

Turn the handw heeluntilthe needleis 5 m m above the throatplate
top.

Movethe stitch regulatorleverand check w hetherthe top feed
does notm ove.
C orrection
–
Loosen screw 4.
–
Turn block 5 on the shaftcorrespondingly.
–
Tighten screw 4.
–
Movethe stitch regulatorlever3 and check w hetherthe top
feed-dog 1 does notm ove.
