2.7 Upperand low erknife

2.7.1 Changing and adjusting the upperknife

Caution:Risk ofinjury!

Switch the m ainswitch off.

Exchange and adjustthe upperknife onlywiththe sew ing unit

sw itched off.

Standard

Inthe low estposition ofthe upperknifethe frontedge ofthe blade

shouldbe0.5to1.0 m m underneaththe top edge ofthe throatplate.

C orrection

Rem ove the fabricsliding sheet.

–

Swivelthe sew ing footout.

–

Turn the handw heeluntilthe needles are intheirtop reversalpoint

and sw ivelthe sew ing footout.

–

Screw offscrew 1.

–

Rem ove the knife holder2 w iththe knife.

–

Loosen screw 3 and rem ove the knife.

–

Inserta new ,sharp knife and tighten w ith screw 3.

–

Insertknife holder2 and tighten slightlywith screw 1.

–

Turn the handw heeluntilthe knifeisinitslow estposition.

–

Shiftthe knifeinsuchawaythatitslightly abutsonthe low erknife

and the frontedge ofthe blade is approx.0.5to1.0mm

underneaththe top edge ofthe throatplate.
