Battery Loading:
The Toro battery
conveniently mounts
into the back of the
Toro. Remove the
battery cover door by
pushing the slot downward and pulling the door away. Position the battery so the cut-outs are
aligned and the contacts are in position with the contact interface. Push the battery in until
the locking slider on the right of the battery slot can be locked into the up position.
Battery Maintenance: When not in use, keep your Toro battery in a cool, dry place. It is
especially important that you keep your Toro battery away from direct exposure to the sun.
Do not disassemble your Toro battery. Do not let the metal battery pins come into contact
with another metal surface. If you notice odor or leakage, remove battery immediately and
clean any residue from skin and clothes and contact your DuraLabel representative.
Battery Charger: The Toro battery should be charged only with the battery charging unit
provided. Plug the charging unit jack into the Toro battery and place the battery at on a
clean, dry surface. Plug the charger into an AC outlet. The light on top of the charger will
illuminate red. When the charger light turns green, your Toro battery is charged and ready.
Charging time averages three hours.
10. Cleaning and Maintenance
IMPORTANT! Always turn the printer OFF and remove the battery before cleaning or
performing maintenance. Always wait at least 5 seconds before turning ON the power. Basic
cleaning of the print head, cutter and platen roller will prolong the life of the printer and allow
crisp, clear labels and signs with every print.
NOTE: A video tutorial on Toro cleaning is available. Select Programs on the Toro toolbar then
Training and Videos. Or, select the “?” button in the Toro toolbar to access Toro’s built-in digital
training section.
Print Head Cleaning
Unclear printouts may be caused by a dusty print head, ribbon stain or label supply residue.
Therefore, when printing, it is necessary to keep the top cover closed. Also, prevent vinyl from
being stained or becoming dusty to ensure print quality and to prolong print head life.
1. Turn the printer power OFF.
2. Open the printer cover, and remove the ribbon and/or label supply from the printer.
3. Open the print head by pressing the gray locking levers.
4. To open a cleaning swab, place the swab between your index nger and your thumb.
Squeeze the swab until it snaps. Alcohol will be distributed to the cotton side of the swab.
5. Run the swab back and forth several times across the front and underside of the print
head to remove any built-up adhesive, residue or dust particles.
