6.1.2. For emergency responders
Emergency procedures : Collect as much as possible in a clean container for (preferable) reuse or disposal.
No additional risk management measures required.
6.2. Environmental precautions
Do not discharge into drains or the environment.
6.3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
For containment : Recover the product by vacuuming, shoveling or sweeping.
6.4. Reference to other sections
Section 7: safe handling. Section 8: personal protective equipment. Section 13: disposal information.
SECTION 7: Handling and storage
7.1. Precautions for safe handling
Additional hazards when processed : None known.
Precautions for safe handling : Handle with care to avoid breakage. Do not tear open the wrapper. Use only
according to label directions.
7.2. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Storage conditions : Store in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Store in correctly labelled containers.
Incompatible materials : Strong oxidizers.
Storage temperature : ≤ 49 °C (<120 °F) (To prevent softening of the firelog. Softened product could break
during handling).
Prohibitions on mixed storage : Keep away from incompatible materials.
7.3. Specific end use(s)
Firelogs: For use in indoor, open-hearth wood burning fireplaces; May also be used in outdoor fireplaces & fire pits in well-ventilated
areas (read instructions & cautions on package); Not for use in wood stoves
Firelighters: Used to start wood fires in any wood burning appliance or campfire (read instructions & cautions on package)

8.2. Exposure controls
Appropriate engineering controls : During combustion: either local exhaust or general room ventilation is usually
required. No special work practices are needed beyond the above
recommendations under anticipated conditions of normal use.
Personal protective equipment : None under normal use.
Consumer exposure controls : Do not use a poker or otherwise disturb a burning firelog or firestarter in any way.
Always close wire mesh protective fire screen when burning a firelog or firestarter.
Never leave any firelog or firestarter fire or wood fire unattended. Keep children and
animals away from fireplaces when burning firelog or firestarter. Read and follow the
firelog or firestarter label instructions.
