GeneralAdvice:Thechemicalsandmetalsinthisproductarecontainedinasealedcan.Exposuretothecontents
willnotoccurunlessthebatteryleaks,isexposedtohightemperaturesorismechanically,physically,orelectrically
abused.
EyeContact:Ifbatteryisleakingandmaterialcontactstheeye,flush
thoroughlywithcopiousamountsofrunning
waterfor30minutes.Seekimmediatemedicaladvice.
SkinContact:Ifbatteryisleakingandmaterialcontactstheskin,removeanycontaminatedclothingandflush
exposedskinwithcopiousamountsofrunningwaterforatleast15minutes.Ifirritation,injuryorpainpersists,
seekmedicaladvice.
Inhaled:Ifbatteryisleaking,contentsmaybeirritatingtorespiratorypassages.Movetofreshair.Ifirritation
persists,seekmedicaladvice.
Swallowed:Ifbatteryisswallowedseekimmediatemedicaladvice.Batterieslodgedintheesophagusshouldbe
removedimmediatelysinceleakage,causticburnsandperforationcan
occurassoonastwohoursafteringestion.
Ifmouthareairritationorburninghasoccurre d,rinsethemouthandsurroundingareawithtepidwaterforatleast
15minutes.Donotgiveipecac.
NotetoPhysician:Publishedreportsrecommendremovalfromtheesophagusbedoneendoscopically(under
directvisualization).
BatteriesbeyondtheesophagusneednotberetrievedunlesstherearesignsofinjurytotheGI
tractoralargediameterbatteryfailstopassthepylorus.Ifasymptomatic,follow‐upx‐raysarenecessaryonlyto
confirmthepassageoflargerbatteries.Confirmationbystoolinspectionispreferableunder
mostcircumstances.
Potentialleakageoflessthan50milligramsofdimethoxyethane andpropylenecarbonate.Dimethoxyethane
rapidlyevaporates.Donotgiveipecac.
