enclosure, at just 1.75” tall, is simple to deploy

◆ RAID Performance for HD Video:
The array comes configured as a RAID 5 array for high performance and data protection. The
RAID can achieve sustained data transfer speeds of up to 160 MB/sec, allowing it to play back
multiple streams of uncompressed 10-bit NTSC video.
◆ PCI Express RAID Controller:
The included PCI Express RAID controller features an Intel IOP 348 RAID processor. The card fea-
tures 256 MB of ECC-RAM for superlative performance. It supports DVRAID, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID
4, RAID 5, RAID 10, JBOD groups, and hot spares for flexible configuration.
◆ Enterprise-Class Hard Disks:
Sonnet uses only Enterprise/RAID edition hard drives in this array. These drives undergo strin-
gent testing for durability. The disks are tested for soft errors, vibration, and reliability prediction.
They have a higher MTBF than standard disks for enhanced reliability.
◆ Both systems feature drive presence and drive activity LED indicators on their front panels, so
drive status can be determined at a glance..
◆ Expansion Option:
Sonnet offers an innovative storage upgrade option for this array. The Fusion D400RAID Expan-
sion system, sold separately, is another four-disk chassis of drives. Adding the expansion system
to your array not only doubles storage capacity, it also gives you the increased performance of
an 8-disk system.

No problem—connected via a single FireWire 800, FireWire 400, or USB cable, all four drives can be accessed at the full
speed of the respective interface. There is no need to reformat when changing from one interface to another, regardless
the configuration.
