5.8 Activities on the machine
This section describes activities that do not relate to the operating soft-
ware. These are mechanical settings performed at specific places in the
machine.
5.8.1 Winding the hook thread
Winding the hook thread is performed during the normal sewing process.
The winding process stops automatically when the bobbin is full.

You wind the hook thread as follows:
1. Press the Stop button to place the machine in the Secure hold sta-
tus.
The secure stop light lights up.
2. Insert an empty bobbin onto the pin below the winding lever (1).
3. Feed the thread from above, downwards through the right hole of the
thread guide.
4. Feed the thread clockwise around the thread tensioner.
5. Feed the thread from below, upwards through the middle hole of the
thread guide.
6. Feed the thread from above, downwards through the left hole of the
thread guide.
7. Manually wind the thread several times clockwise around the bobbin.
The thread is now fastened to the bobbin.
8. Press the winding lever (1) downwards against the bobbin.
The machine can now be used normally and winding takes place
while using the machine. Winding is automatically stopped by the
winding lever when the bobbin is full.
9. When the bobbin is full, cut the thread using the cutting clamp (2) and
remove the bobbin.
