2. Turn the main switch from the "O" position (1) to the right into the "I"
position (2).

The controller for the machine starts up and clicks once.
You hear the air being released onto the moving parts.
The secure stop light lights up.
The operation display starts up and the initial screen appears.
The operation display does not need to be switched on separately - it is
activated through the power supply.
5.2 Preparing the machine for operation
Some preparations are required before the machine can be used to start
sewing. The table below shows which aspects have to be checked or met.

Making the basic
settings
The basic settings must be performed using the software,
otherwise not all subsequent steps can be carried out
Section 5.2.1.
Inserting the thread reel The thread reel must be inserted since otherwise a thread
will not be available for sewing, Section 5.2.2.
Checking the needle The needle must be present, since sewing cannot take
place without a needle. The needle must be aligned cor-
rectly, otherwise the hook cannot form a loop and there-
fore not be used in sewing, Section 5.2.3.

The thread must be threaded, since sewing cannot take
place without the thread, Section 5.2.4.
Inserting the bobbin The bobbin must be inserted, since otherwise a hook
thread will not be available. Sewing cannot take place
without the hook thread, Section 5.2.5.
Checking the shaping
assembly
The shaping assembly must be inserted, since sewing
cannot take place without it. If the wrong shaping assem-
bly is inserted, then the desired sewing program cannot be
selected, Section 5.2.6.
Optional:
Carrying out a test run
The test run (in a step-by-step phase) can be used for
checking the settings, but is not mandatory, Section
5.3.
