SURFACE PREPARATION: Remove all dirt, wax, dust, mildew, and loose

or scaling material with a scraper, wire brush, or stiff bristle brush. Grease,

wax, and oil should be removed by scrubbing with DRYLOK

Etch (liquid

or powder) according to manufacturer’s directions or use a heavy duty

detergent in warm water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Efflorescence,

white, powdery, salt-like deposits visible on masonry must be removed

with DRYLOK

Etch (liquid or powder) or muriatic acid according to

manufacturer’s directions. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

WARNING! If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead

dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS

ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN.

PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH-

approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA

vacuum and a wet mop. Before you start, find out how to protect yourself and

LEAD or log on to www.epa.gov/lead.

APPLICATION: Stir thoroughly before application. DRYLOK

Protector

Penetrating Sealer appears milky in the can – dries clear. Apply only when air

and surface temperatures are between 50°- 90°F (10°- 32°C) and the relative

humidity is below 60%.

Apply by brush, roller, sprayer. Roller: 1/4"-3/8" (6-8 mm) nap roller; brush:

nylon/polyester; pump sprayer. Spread evenly – do not allow puddles or a

heavy surface film to occur. Apply one coat. If after one coat, water droplets

are readily absorbed into the surface (extremely porous surfaces), a second

coat may be required. Allow 3 hours drying time between coats. DRYLOK

Protector Penetrating Sealer should not be used to build up a surface film. As

additional coats are applied, sheen build-up will occur, surface will become

slippery when wet and on light-colored surfaces, some slight darkening may

take place. Not for use on asphalt surfaces.

For use as a PRIMER: DRYLOK

Protector Penetrating Sealer can be used

as a primer-sealer prior to applying DRYLOK

Latex Base Concrete Floor

Paint, DRYLOK

E1 1-Part Epoxy Floor Paint, latex, alkyd, or polyurethane

concrete floor paints, or carpeting. For self-adhesive floor tiles, check with

tile manufacturer for adhesion compatibility. When applied over concrete

and mortar DRYLOK

Protector Penetrating Sealer solidifies the surface for

painting.

Recurring Efflorescence: To minimize recurring efflorescence DRYLOK

Protector Penetrating Sealer can be used as a primer/sealer under DRYLOK

Basement & Masonry Waterproofer or other masonry wall coatings.

NOTE: DRYLOK

Protector Penetrating Sealer is not recommended as

a waterproofer. Masonry wall surfaces subjected to hydrostatic pressure

(water pressure behind the wall) should be coated with DRYLOK

Basement

& Masonry Waterproofer. Do not use over a silicone treated surface. Worn

surfaces with similar clear coatings, which allow water penetration, may be

recoated with DRYLOK

Protector Penetrating Sealer. For best results test

for proper adhesion on a small area prior to coating entire surface.

THINNING: When applied over flagstone, slate, terrazzo, dense smooth or

light colored concrete, thin with clean, moderately warm water 10%-20% to

minimize sheen variations as subsequent top coats are applied. Test on a

small area to see final effect.

COVERAGE: Up to 400 sq. ft. (37 m

) per gallon depending on surface porosity.

CLEAN UP: Soap and water.

DRY TIME: Allow to dry 2 hours before subjecting to light foot traffic and

24 hours before subjecting to heavy traffic. Drying time may be affected by

temperature, humidity, and film thickness.

FIRST AID: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call poison control

center, hospital emergency room, or physician immediately.

CAUTION: Do not take internally. Close container after each use.

If spilled, contain spilled material and remove with inert absorbent.

Dispose of contaminated absorbent,

container, and unused contents in

accordance with local, state, and

federal regulations.
