9.4.1 The use of a thermometer
The first use of a thermometer is to inform the user about the discharge temperature of
flue gases. Without accurate measurement of the draft using a pressure gauge
(manometer), the thermometer will indicate if the temperature is ideal, too low or too high.
The use of a thermometer is therefore an acceptable alternative that can tell if the chimney
is hot enough to generate an adequate draft.
Use a magnetic thermometer for Single wall connector pipe.
Use a probe thermometer for Double wall connector pipe.
