1.2.6 Formatting the Drives

After installing Drobo Dashboard, inserting the drives into your Drobo 5C and connecting

cables, you are ready to turn on your Drobo device and format the drives.

Before following steps for this, however, it is important to know what file system format

and volume size you will choose when you format the drives.

Note:

If you have migrated an entire disk pack from another Drobo device to this one,

you do not need to format the drives, as they have already been formatted. For

additional information, see Migrating a Disk Pack from Another Drobo Device.
