1.1.3.2 Connectivity Interface Supported for the Drobo 5C

Your Drobo 5C device has USB 3.0, Type C interface. Drobo provides USB Type A to Type

C cable with the device. Depending on the model of your computer, it may have USB

Type A or Type C interface. You have to buy a Type C to Type C cable if your computer

has a Type C interface. Speed of data communication is limited by the slowest interface

of your computer and the Drobo device.

Notes:

If your computer only has a USB 2.0 connection, then the Drobo device will

operate at USB 2.0 speeds.

If you would like to use the USB 3.0 interface and it is not available on your

computer, you can purchase and install an add-on adapter card. (This is a circuit

board that fits into an expansion slot in your computer and provides the interface

you want.)
