Specification Sheet
MULTI-PLY ENGINEERED PLANK HARDWOOD FLOORING INSTALLATIONS
Wood Flooring should acclimate to “live-in” temperature and humidity conditions (please follow manufacturer’s specifications). Job site environment
should be at “live-in” conditions at time of installation. Job site environment should be maintained at “live in” conditions at all times.
To start installation, create a starting line and secure a straight edge or backer board at this line.
• Apply the adhesive with the required trowel. The adhesive can be wet-layed or flashed off up to 30 minutes prior to installation.
Occasionally check for transfer of adhesive to the back of the wood flooring. If adhesive transfer is less than 75% to the back of the
wood flooring, scrape up the adhesive and spread fresh DriTac Eco-5500 Adhesive.
Keep the flooring tight as you install. Install wood against the backer board secured at the starting line. The first five or six rows should be
interlocked with releasable or painter’s tape, securing the floor from movement during installation. Continue to use tape as necessary.
Allow for expansion in all wood flooring installations. Follow manufacturer’s recommendations.
Roll the floor with a 100 lb. roller every two to three hours during and immediately after installation.
When the installation is complete, fill expansion with wedges or cork stripping to hold the floor tightly in place. Remove wedges or cork
stripping after floor has set to allow for normal expansion.
Allow flooring to “breathe”. Do not cover floor with nonporous material such as plastic or vinyl.
Restrict heavy traffic and furniture placement for 24 hours after installation.
Allow unfinished wood flooring to acclimate to its new environmental conditions prior to sanding.
CARPET TILE INSTALLATIONS
The adhesive, floor covering, and area to receive flooring must be maintained at a temperature of 65°-95°F and at a relative humidity of 35%-65% for 72
hours before, during, and after installation. Adhesives applied over non-porous substrates require extended drying time.
· Apply adhesive with a 1/16" x 1/32" x 1/32" u notched trowel, depending on surface and strength of bond desired. It is the installer's
responsibility to apply the proper amount of adhesive for the job condition.
· Used "dry" it is a releasable and rebondable, pressure sensitive adhesive for vinyl back carpet tiles. For a releasable bond, DriTac Eco-5500 may
be applied to porous or non-porous surfaces and allowed to dry "tacky." Tiles may be removed as needed to change the pattern or to replace
worn tiles.
· When used "wet" the water in the adhesive must have an avenue of escape (one surface must be porous), and the bond created will be permanent.
· Install flooring according to manufacturer's recommendations.
LUXURY VINYL TILE, LUXURY VINYL PLANK & VINYL STAIR TREADS FLOOR INSTALLATIONS
The adhesive, floor covering, and area to receive flooring must be maintained at a temperature of 65°-95°F and at a relative humidity of 35%-65% for 72
hours before, during, and after installation. Follow the flooring manufacturer’s guidelines regarding site conditions and installation.
Porous Surfaces: May be used as a wet-lay method or a pressure sensitive adhesive over porous surfaces. To use wet, apply adhesive with the
recommended trowel and allow to flash off for 5-10 minutes before installing flooring. Lay tile, plank or sheet goods into wet adhesive according
to flooring manufacturer's instructions. Adhesive must transfer to floor product to ensure proper bond. To use as a pressure sensitive adhesive,
allow the adhesive to dry to a tacky state and then install flooring according to flooring manufacturer’s
instructions within 3 hours.
Non-Porous Surfaces:Tile & Plank: Apply adhesive with the recommended trowel and allow to dry completely. Lay in the tile or plank according
to the flooring manufacturers instructions within 3 hours. The highly aggressive pressure sensitive grip prevents slippage and minimizes seam
gaps. Drying time is 45-60 minutes and will vary depending on temperature and humidity. Installation over areas of incomplete drying can result in
job failure.
