7.2 Pole and Tower Specifications
It is important that mounting posts or towers used meet the DragonWave specifications for rigidity to
minimize the effects of twist and sway on the alignment of the link. Note that the maximum twist and sway
angle allowable is equal to half of the antenna beam width.

Twist and sway caused by wind or human activity can cause a link to fail. Using poles with specifications
shown in Table 7-3 will result in a stable mounting system. Systems with antenna sizes of 90 cm/36” in
diameter and greater, are recommended to be mounted on towers.
