Ignition System
•
Attach a timing light [A] and a tachometer in the manner
prescribed by the manufacturer.
Special Tool - Timing Light: 57001-1241
•
Start the engine and aim the timing light at the timing mark
on the alternator rotor.
•
Run the engine at the speeds specified and note the align-
ment of the timing marks.
[A] F or R mark
Ignition Timing
Slot [B] aligned with:
Advanced mark [C] on alternator rotor
NOTE
○
Do not mix up the timing marks with mark [A].
If the ignition timing is incorrect, replace the ECU and the
crankshaft sensor.
