Operation Manual

49
With the VIVA Twister equipment the heated exhaust air
must to be led away from the intake area of the tanning
equipment via a hose.
With the exhaust air piping the following things have to
be noted:
Ambient temperature
ê
The ambient temperature has a large influence on
the operation of the equipment (refer to the chapter
"Important notes").
ê
Air conditioning of the studio is recommended
especially in the summer months.
Air intake openings when setting up the booth
ê
If the equipment is set up without the combined
changing booth in a separate room, a minimum
installation area of 2 m x 1.7 m = 3.4 m
2
and a free
minimum cross-section of 4500 cm
2
should be
planned (with the changing booth).
ê
It is recommended to plan the air intake from at
least 2 room sides so the height of the air intake
opening does not get too large (for this see the
following diagram).
ê Please note that panels, grating, screens, etc. at the
air intake area reduce the open cross section.
ê A reduction of the air intake openings in the cross
section can lead to unwanted drafts.
ê Avoid interference of the air intake (suction) in the
lower area of the equipment (for example, by
neighboring booths).
This pertains to open installations in the studio
and in combination with changing booths.
Minimum installation area: 2.1 x 1.4 m = 2.9 m
2
(4,2 m
2
with open door of the changing booth).
Exhaust air piping and hose diameter
ê
For the VIVA Twister an exhaust air hose with a rated
diameter of 400 mm (clear diameters of approxi-
mately 375 mm) is required.
ê
Besides the correct diameter a optimum hose layout
must be planned. Ideally the exhaust hose has to
be led away from the equipment in a straight line.
Each bend increases the air resistance in the hose.
180°- bends should always be avoided.
ê
Hose length of approximately 4 m can be planned
with straight line installation without the use of an
additional fan.
ê
If it is required to lay the hose in one or more bends,
it has to be noted that the length of the hose
effectively is reduced without the use of an additio-
nal fan.
ê
With larger length of hose and bends it is
recommended in any case to use an additional fan.
The initial cross-section should not be reduced in
any case because an air back-up is created.
Minimum dimensions of the air intake openings when installing the booth
Dimension A with two-sided open wall (lengthwise/crosswise) 12,5 cm
