Operating Guide

9.2 Where Applied
Residential:
Froth-Pak
Foam Sealant is used primarily as an air sealant
at openings around vents, pipes, ducts, cables and wires, or
flash and batt projects, or under cellulose or other blown-in
insulation to air seal.
With its Class-A rating, Froth-Pak
Foam Insulation is commonly
used to insulate along the sill plate, rim joists and wall cavities.
Commercial:
There are a variety of commercial applications for Froth-Pak
Foam Insulation (Class A). It is acceptable to use on applications
such as roof penetrations, sealing holes and pitch pockets,
wall/floor juncture, duct sealing (IRC applications), and blocking
inside conduit at a non-hourly rate. Contact DuPont for further
information.
Section 10
Transportation
Follow all local, regional, and federal transportation
requirements.
It is safe to transport Froth-Pak
products in either the cab
or the bed/trunk of a vehicle providing they are upright and
secured from moving or falling.
Caution should be used when the vehicle is left unattended
In winter, the kit may get too cold. The kit needs to be stored
above 45 degrees Fahrenheit or 7 degrees Celsius, and is best
to be sprayed at 75 degrees Fahrenheit or 24 degrees Celsius.
In summer, cabs and trunks can get too hot.
Section 11
Tank Heating
11.1 Usage
When Froth-Pak
liquid chemical inside the tank liquid chemi-
cal is below 65ºF(18ºC) an external heat source may be required.
Heating the tank is NOT required when the liquid chemical is
above 65ºF (18ºC)
Heating bands are available for 620 and 650 cylinders, through:
McMaster-Carr
www.mcmaster.com
630-600-3600
The heater band McMaster model numbers are as follows:
620 tank 3549K41
650 tank 3549K41
During the initial start-up, the controls for the heater bands can
be set at medium for 30-60 minutes. However, for continuous
operation, “LO” would be the desired setting, unless extremely
low temperatures are experienced.
11.2 Installation Procedure - Tank Heater Band
1. Wrap and clamp heater band around tank prior to
switching on.
2. Pull on spring, at the same time hold end of heater against
the tank.
3. Place a loop of the spring over the hook.
4. The heater should not be clamped in dented areas of
the tank.
5. The heater must be in full contact with the tank and below
the level of the liquid while in operation.
6. DO NOT bend the heater sharply as this may cause
internal damage to the heating element.
7. DO NOT use outside insulation.
NOTE: Heaters are available for other tank heating operations, refer to
Electro-Flex Heat, Inc.
