Never install an infant restraint system in the front seat of a vehicle equipped with an active passenger side frontal airbag. Loosen Harness Straps Push in on the harness adjustment lever under the flap. Pull out on harness straps just above buckle tongues. 5. Check Buckle Position Determine which of the three buckle/crotch strap slots that is both comfortable and snug to use.

From the front of restraint system, push buckle’s metal retainer through pad and shell. Make sure that buckle is facing out. 6. Do not use this infant restraint rearfacing if the top of your infant’s head is above the top of the infant restraint. Do not use this child restraint forward-facing if the midpoint of your child’s ears are above the top of the child restraint. a.

Straps Over the Child’s Shoulders. Place the child’s bottom and back flat against the restraint system. This will increase comfort and allow the harness straps to be properly tightened. NOTE: A snug harness is not loose and lies flat against the child without sagging.

Loosen Harness Straps Install Cup Holder (on select models) Cup holder can be on either side.Pull pad off corner. Hook top of cup holder to edge of plastic shell. Snap bottom of cup holder under edge of shell. Replace pad. Push in on the harness adjustment lever under the flap. Pull out on harness straps just above buckle tongues. 2.

The infant insert is designed to support the infant’s head and neck. Make sure that the insert does not cover the infant’s face in any way. Remove the insert when the infant’s head has reached the top inside part of the infant insert.

Unhook Harness Straps from Splitter Plate Rear-facing - Recline stand MUST be folded under infant restraint (2). 2 Fully loosen harness straps. Starting in the back of the restraint system, unhook harness strap loops from splitter plate. Forward-Facing - Recline stand MUST be in the upright position (1).

Place the screw driver’s tip between shell and harness guide, then twist the screw driver while pulling the harness guide from the front. Repeat for other side. Through Shell and Pad Rotate buckle/crotch strap’s metal retainer, then insert buckle/crotch strap’s metal retainer up through the shell and pad. 5. Remove Buckle from Restraint System From the front, pull buckle/crotch strap free from shell and pad.

Install Pad Replace seat pad by reversing order for your particular model. Attach all of the elastic straps if required. Install harness system (see section C-9). C-9 Installing Harness System Then pull the pad off the front of the restraint system. Do not use this restraint system without the seat pad.

Thread the harness strap down through harness slot on left side of shell (1) and up through harness slot on right side (2). Take both ends of the harness strap and make them even in length. 1 2 NOTE: Make sure harness adjustment strap is between the harness strap and shell as shown.

UAS Anchor Bars The UAS The Universal Anchorage System (UAS) is for installing restraint systems without using vehicle seat belts. The UAS can ONLY be used in vehicles that have the UAS anchor bars installed and designated UAS seating positions. Most vehicles manufactured after September 2002 are equipped with UAS.
4358-5405 Can Scenera 12/8/10 2:50 PM Page 39 • Switchable retractor These belts switch from ELR to ALR (Automatic Locking Retractor). You must have the vehicle belts in the locking mode to use them. Follow the instructions in the installation sections. • ALR (Automatic Locking Retractor) These belts lock after pulling the webbing out and letting the belt go back into the retractor an inch or two. Follow the instructions in the installation sections.

Use only if the belt can be tightened properly and securely. Do not recline the infant restraint beyond the level-to-ground line. Use only the reclined position. Do not use the recline stand when rear-facing. Failure to follow these warnings can result in serious injury or death.

Secure UAS Belts You MUST fasten the UAS belt hooks to the side of the shell as shown when using the aircraft seat belts. Secure the UAS belts and tether strap when using the aircraft belts. Push and pull the infant restraint from side to side, forward and back. The infant restraint should not move more than 2.5 cm (1 in) and the vehicle belt should not loosen. NOTE: If it moves more than an 2.5 cm (1 in.) or if the vehicle belt loosens, try reinstalling the infant restraint or try another seating location.

Forward-Facing using 5-point harness Lap/ Shoulder Belt UAS Belt Tether straps are required in Canada. Using this child restraint without the tether strap anchored as recommended by the manufacturer would be a misuse of the child restraint and, in a sudden stop or crash, could cause serious injury or death.

Routing UAS Belt 2. Thread UAS Hook 2. Place Child Restraint in Across to Opposite Side Vehicle ForwardFacing in the Back Seat Pull the UAS hook across the back and out the other side as shown. Do not twist the UAS belt. Place child restraint flush against the vehicle seat back forward-facing.

To Remove UAS Belt From Vehicle Anchor Bar It maybe easier to tighten the belt through the belt path opening as shown. Remove child from child restraint.

With a switchable retractor, feed the shoulder belt back into the retractor while tightening. It maybe easier to tighten the vehicle belt through the belt path opening as shown. 6.
