STEP 2 Release Talk Button to hear bab’s response or to monitor sounds
STEP 3 To lock out Talk Button from unsupervised use, slide button up as
shown. This prevents anyone from talking to the baby unit.
Note: If you experience static or noise interference, switch both units to an
alternate channel.
(LD of button operation for lock-out)
Note: If you experience a power failure, the Parent’s Unit and the Baby’s
Unit will not automatically switch to battery power. You must disconnect the
AC Adapters from the Parent’s and the Baby’s Unit. You must separate the
Baby’s Portable Monitor from the Base unit to use the rechargeable battery
power and you must insert 4 AAA batteries (not included) into the Parent’s
unit for battery power.
LED SOUND LEVEL LIGHT INDICATORS/AUDIO-VISUAL ALARM INDI-
CATORS
The five (5) RED LEDs at the top of the Parent’s Unit light up to display the
sound level coming from your baby. These sound level indicators are facto-ry pre-set and
are not affected by the volume setting. This feature allows
you to view the relative volume level of your baby’s sounds. It is most effec-tive when
you are in a noisy environment and may not be able to hear your
baby’s sounds clearly. The louder the sound, the more RED LEDs will light
up.
These RED LEDs, along with the Speaker, also serve as a loss of signal
alarm. When the Parent’s unit is too far from the Baby’s Unit for monitoring,
the LEDs will flash and the Speaker will give off an audible alarm. Do Not
use this feature as a “seek” function to locate your child.
Operating Tips
• Make sure that both units are on the same channel. Even though you may
hear your baby’s sounds, proper use of this system requires that both units
must be on the same channel. If the units are on different channels, the sig-nalsfrom the
Baby’s Unit may be strong enough to be picked up by the
Parent’s Unit, but these signals are unreliable and may contain substantial
static.
•When using the AC Adapters with household electricity, make sure the out-let has
power. Some electrical outlets are powered through a wall switch in
the room. If both Units are plugged in and”ON” , the Power indicator LEDs
