4. If necessary, clean the baking elements with a moist cloth. Always keep the
machine clean. See the chapter on «Cleaning and Maintenance».
5. Put a few drops of vegetable oil on the baking elements.
6. Close the lid using the handle.
7. Put the plug into the outlet. The red on/off light will light up and the machine will
start to warm up.
8. Select the desired temperature by turning the temperature regulator.
9. When the machine has reached the desired temperature, the green light will light
up. The wafe iron is now ready to use.
10. Open the lid using the handle.
11. Pour the wafe batter into the lower baking element. If necessary, use a wooden
or plastic spatula to evenly distribute the batter over the baking elements.
12. Close the lid using the handle.
13. Turn the machine 180° within 10 seconds. Let
the machine rest on the anti-slip feet provided.
14. During baking, the green lamp will turn
on and off because the thermostat will turn
itself on and off to maintain the desired
temperature.
15. Bake the Brussels wafes until they are ready
for consumption (about 3 to 4 minutes). The wafes should be crunchy on the
outside and soft in the middle. But this depends on the batter and personal taste.
16. Turn the machine back over when the wafes are done.
17. Open the lid using the handle.
18. For hygienic reasons, it is better to throw away the rst wafes, and not to eat
them.
19. Stay near the machine to regularly check whether the wafes are done and make
sure that the wafes do not burn.
20. Carefully loosen the wafes with a wooden or plastic spatula. Never use metal
objects because the non-stick coating on the baking elements may be damaged.
21. Close the lid to keep the heat in for further use.
22. When you are nished making wafes, pull the plug from the outlet.
23. Let the machine cool down completely before putting it away.
NOTES ON MAKING THE BEST BRUSSELS WAFFLES
• Wait until the green light goes on before lling the wafe maker with batter.
• Pour approximately 300ml of batter into the wafe maker to bake 2 wafes.
• Bake the wafes for about 4 minutes at the maximum temperature to make them
soft on the inside and crisp on the outside.
• Always leave the storage clip open while baking. This gives the wafes space to
rise.
