Figuring out how to measure your project to determine the amount of product needed
doesn’t have to be intimidating!
For simple squares and rectangular spaces, measure your project in feet:
length multiplied by width. THAT’S IT!
If your project is NOT a perfect square or rectangle, then subdivide
your project into smaller areas to break up the project space into easily
measured blocks. Check out the diagram to see how we tackled this
irregular space.
While a measuring tape will work
to measure square footage,
a measuring wheel can be helpful
when measuring long distances.
It can also be used in many
home projects.

How to Measure Your Project
There are Two Easy Steps
STEP 1. Measuring the Square Feet of your project.
This guide helps you with the basic formula for squares and rectangles along
with some other common landscaping shapes and scenarios.
STEP 2. Determining the Porosity of Your Surface.
Knowing whether your surface is dense or porous will help you determine if
more than one coat of sealer is necessary.
