6.4 DC operation

Connecting the battery charging cable
Disconnect the vehicle battery ground cable from the negative (-) battery termi-
nal.
Plug the battery charging cable (fig. g 1, page 25) into the 12V DC power
socket (fig. g 2, page 25) of the generator.
Connect the red charger clip (fig. g 4, page 25) to positive (+) battery terminal
and the black charger clip (fig. g 5, page 25) to negative (-).
Turn the ECO switch (fig. g 3, page 25) to the “OFF” position.
Start the generator to charge the battery (see chapter “Start the Generator” on
page 19).
WARNING! SERIOUS INJURIES
Never smoke, avoid open flames and sparks or make and break con-
nections of the battery while charging.
Batteries may give off explosive hydrogen gas while recharging.
Sparks may ignite the hydrogen gas. Provide adequate ventilation
when charging or using batteries.
Wear protective goggles and gloves when working around a bat-
tery. Battery electrolyte is an extremely corrosive sulfuric acid solu-
tion that can cause severe burns.
Avoid electrolyte from the battery coming into contact with skin,
eyes or clothing. If a contact occurs, flush area with water immedi-
ately.
