LOW LIFECYCLE COSTS
ASC – THE MOST PROFITABLE SOLUTION IN THE LONG RUN
You certainly know the tale about those “super-low-
cost” printers where the cartridge will in the end cost
you more than the unit did. When considering the
investment in an A/C service unit you will naturally
have an eye on the costs – upcoming maintenance
costs included. This is where fully automatic ASC
A/C service units offer many plus factors: low costs
for spares and consumables, considerably
longer service and maintenance intervals, plus
a full 24 months of warranty coverage! Projected to
the entire lifecycle of an A/C service unit (8 years
and beyond), ASC-series units are a very profitable
choice.
Oil change only after every 60 operating
hours
Needs to be replaced less often (after 150 kg
of recovered refrigerant)
Fully electronic control of all processes,
reduces service times.
All refrigerant carrying components are
placed on the main scales, which prevents
measuring errors and thus saves time.
Helps charge the required amount of refrigerant
into the vehicle even when ambient
temperature are high and the engine is hot. No
need to manually interfere into the process.
High-capacity filter drier Valve block
High-capacity weighing cell Heating tape
Maintenance-friendly vacuum pump
Plastic containers let moisture in, which may lead to acid
or ice formation in the A/C system. Therefore, ASC A/C
service units use aluminium laminated bags contained
in protective metal cylinders for moisture-free storage
of fresh oil and UV additive. No blockage of valves, no
solvent penetration and the full approval of many auto-
motive manufacturers.
Included as standard with models ASC 1000, ASC 2000, ASC 2500 and ASC 2000RPA
ASC SERIES MEETS SAE J 2788 AND 2099
The standard developed by the Society of Automotive
Engineers (SAE) is valid for the USA, while it can also be
found in the factory specifications of several German
automotive manufacturers.
What are the most significant requirements
and what do they mean for daily workshop
operation?
Requirements for SAE J 2788 approval:
Ŷ The unit must be able to recover 95% of the refrigerant
contained in the automotive air conditioner within
30 minutes, at ambient temperatures between 20
and 24°C. In other words, no more than 5% of the
refrigerant may be left in the air conditioner.
Ŷ Refrigerant must be charged with an accuracy of
+/- 15 g.
Ŷ Refrigerant recovery must be made and displayed
with an accuracy of +/- 30 g.
To comply with these requirements we modified the
hardware and software of the ASC-series units. Among
other things, we integrated a new weighing platform.
The special weighing technology requires no
transport lock.
