GETTING STARTED WITH YOUR
NESCAFÉ DOLCE GUSTO ESPERTA

MAKE YOUR FIRST CUP
1. Raise locking handle to unlock
capsule holder.
2. Pull out capsule holder and
remove rinsing tool. Be sure to
save the rinsing tool in a safe
location for future use.
3. Use the scroll wheel to adjust
the green BARS on the machine
to match the BARS indicated on
top of the capsule.
4. Insert 1 capsule into capsule
holder, re-insert capsule holder snuggly, then lower the
locking handle and press firmly to lock. If you are unsure
which capsule to insert first, please reference the top flap of
the box of capsules.
5. Press the cold (blue) or hot (red) button based on your
selected beverage.
For black coffee: You will use 1 black coffee capsule. Be
sure to have a cup that holds 12oz or more.
For specialty coffee: First, use 1 white milk capsule. Then,
use 1 black coffee capsule. Be sure to have a cup that holds
8oz or more.

it is important to properly set up your machine by following
steps 1 through 6. Be sure to also read the included user
manual for additional information regarding first use and other
important safety information.
1. Remove the water tank and fill
with drinking water to the maximum
fill level. Then, place it snuggly back
into the machine.
2. Raise locking handle. Make
sure rinsing tool is in capsule
holder, and capsule holder is in
machine. Lower locking handle
to close tightly. Note: you will
want to keep the rinsing tool
for the capsule holder in a safe location for future use in
descaling the machine.
3. Attach the drip tray to support a cup or glass that is 14
ounces or larger.
4. Press the power button once,
then wait for the blinking red
light to turn green.
5. Set BARS to maximum level
with scroll wheel.
6. Rinsing the machine [the loud
sound you will hear is normal]
a. Press cold water button.
Wait until countdown is
finished and machine stops.
b. Press hot water button. Again, wait until countdown is
finished and machine stops.
Repeat a. and b. if necessary.
