9. Reinstallthedrivecoverbypositioningitsothatthemountingtangontherightside
oftheRAIDbayinsertsinthemountingslotontherearofthedrivecover.Todothis,
holdthedrivecoversothatthereisanapproximately10‐degreeanglebetween
the
coverandthefrontoftheunit,asshowninFigure 3‐10.

10. Slidethedrivecoveroverthemountingtangandmoveittotheleftuntilthe
mountingstudontheleftrearsideofthecoverengagestheholeinthefrontofthe
unit.
IfyoureplacedoneRAIDdriveanddidnotshutdownthesystem,theRAIDarray
rebuildsautomatically.However,ifyouarenotrunningmultipleworkorders,we
recommendshuttingdownthesystem,rebooting,andmanuallyrebuildingtheRAID
array,asdescribedinSection 3.1.2.
Ifyoureplacedanon‐RAIDdrive,rebootingandmanualrebuildingisrequired,as
describedinSection 3.1.2.
IfyoureplacedbothRAIDdrives
(drives1and2),youneedtousetheDP600software
DVDtoreinstallthesoftware,asdescribedinSection 3.3.Insuchacase,youperform
acleaninstallationandthe systemautomaticallysynchronizesthetwoRAIDdrives,
re‐creatingtheoriginalmirroredRAIDarray (manualrebuildingnotrequired).
3.1.2 Rebuilding DP600 Drives
TomanuallyrebuildDP600harddrives:
1. PlacetheDP600inanidlestatebyhaltingallworkordersbeingprocessed.
2. Shutdowntheunitbyclickingthe
powerbuttoninthesystemscreen.
3. BesureamonitorandkeyboardareconnectedtotheDP600,thenreconnectthe
power.
4. Press<Alt>+<3>whenpromp tedtoaccessthe3ware
®
BIOSManager.
Atthispoint,areddialogboxinformsyouthatadegradeddiskarrayisinstalled.Press
anykeytocontinue.
