YoucanchangethecurrentAspect RatioandScalingsettingsbypressingthearrowkeys,
andthenpressingthe
ENTERkey.
Aspect Ratioconfiguresthescreenimageusingasymmetricalscaling.Thisprocess
performsaverticalstretchoninputformatsthathavenonsquarepixels(tomaintainthe
correctaspectratio)andretainsthehorizontalresolution.Forexample,astandard
definitionsourcesuchas720×480hasahorizontaltoverticalpixel ratioof3:2,bu
tappears
ina4:3aspectratio.Inthiscase,asymmetricalscalingconvertstheimageto720×540.
Ifyousetthe
Aspect RatiotoAuto,thesystemusestheaspectratiodefinedbythevideo
input.
Scalingconfiguresthescreenimage,adjustingthehorizontalandverticaldimensions
symmetrically.

Pixel for Pixelmapsinputpixelstooutputpixelswithnoscaling.Forexample,a1,280
×720sourceismappedtothemiddle67%ofthe1,920×1,080raster.
•
Fullscreen scalesthesourcebytherequiredscalefactortofillatleastone dimensionof
the1,920×1,080raster.Forexample,thesystemscalesupa1,280×720sourceby1.5.
For2Ksourcesthatarenotcroppedbythe2Kimagepositionsetting(seeFigure 2‐37),
thesystemscale
sdownto1,920×1,080.Allotherformatsscaleup.
•
Integerscalesthesourceascloseaspossibletothefull1,920×1,080rasterusingan
integerscalefactor.Forexample,thesystemscalesupa640×480sourceby2,
displayinga1,280×960activeimageinthecenterofthe1,920×1,080raster.
•
Overscanisfull‐screenmodeplusascalefactorthatdecreasesthesizeofthepicture
by5%.
•
Underscan isfull‐screenmodeplusascalefactorthatincreasesthesizeofthepicture
by5%andcropsto1,920×1,080.
