Before you begin, read this section so you will be familiar with your VoFX right from the start. The VoFX will quickly become the most important tool you have to make your songs sound like professional studio recordings in any live application. If you are using the VoFX in karaoke applications, you can remove vocals from most ordinary CD's.

VoFX manual 7/25/00 11:04 AM Page 3 Signal SignalProcessing Processing SECTION 1 - GETTING STARTED Supplying Power The VoFX, is designed to “Plug in and Go”, so connect the included power supply and the VofX will power up and be ready to serve. It is always a good ideas to follow some electrical safety standards, we have listed them below to keep things running smooth. • Always make sure you have a "clean" power source for connecting to the VoFX.
VoFX manual 7/25/00 11:04 AM Page 4 Signal SignalProcessing Processing 1) PROGRAM AND BANK SELECTOR FOOTSWITCHES- These footswitches give you access to the User Programs in the VoFX and allow you to change User Banks. 2) EFFECT GROUPS - The VoFX's effects are divided into 13 groups and labeled on the front panel. When lit, the LED in each group indicates that an effect in the group is active.
VoFX manual 7/25/00 11:04 AM Page 5 Signal SignalProcessing Processing Rear Panel Connections 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 The VoFX's rear panel connections are as follows: 1) HIGH IMPEDANCE 1/4 INPUT - Connect high impedance 1/4 input cable here. 2) KARAOKE INPUT - Connect high impedance 1/8 stereo CD input cable here. 3) LOW IMPEDANCE INPUT - This is the insert used for Low impedance XLR microphone input cords. 4) LOW IMPEDANCE OUTPUT - This is the insert used for Low impedance XLR output cords.
VoFX manual 7/25/00 11:04 AM Page 6 Signal SignalProcessing Processing SECTION 2 - PROGRAMMING THE VoFX The VoFX is designed to be both easy to program and flexible. The structure of an VoFX Program is logical, and it doesn't require a lot of time to master. To Select Programs in the VoFX: 1) After you power up, use the Data wheel to scroll through the Programs. As you scroll, the effect group and footswitch LEDs turn on and off.

To select Programs using the footswitches: 1) After you power up, the VoFX defaults to Performance mode. Select a Bank by pressing the Bank selector footswitch. The display shows the selected bank number on the left side of the display and a dash on the right. The display might look something like this: 22) Press footswitch 1, 2, or 3.

In this case, you'll see that the 300 ms mono delays can be found between 41 and 49 in the Echo(not Multi-Delay) Group. 4) Use the Data wheel to scroll until the the display reads: 41 . NOTE: When you change the selected Parameter from the stored value, a decimal point appears in the bottom right corner of the display and the Store LED lights.

After the storing procedure is complete, the VoFX returns to normal operation at the new Program location. NOTE: Factory Programs can't be overwritten. When you modify a factory Program and store it in memory, the Program is stored in the corresponding number location in the User Program section.

Because they are so numerous, we have designed the following charts to give you as much relevant information as possible while omitting tedious or obvious details about each effect's setting. For example, Compressors, Detuners, and Pitch Shifters are not shown because their effect names are self explanatory.

One path remains uneffected, while the other is modulated in and out of phase. When this is combined with the original, part of the signal is returned back to the input (feedback). The VoFX offers you the unique ability to remove unwanted vocals in recordings and then play the rest of the music back through the unit on most CDs and Tapes. This can be accomplished by performing the following procedure: Insert the CD player in the Karaoke jack (located on the rear panel), and select the effect.
