Connecting to a Wi-Fi compatible PC
Even out of public wireless LAN area, you can perform packet communication with
connecting a Wi-Fi compatible PC to use FOMA terminal as an access point.
･
Switch FOMA terminal to AP mode ON in advance. For AP mode settings, refer to "Instruction manual
(detailed version) (in Japanese only)" (PDF file) of the FOMA terminal.
<Example> Under Windows 7

Click (Start)→"コントロールパネル (Control panel)"→"ネットワークの状態
とタスクの表示 (Network status and tasks)" in the "ネットワークとインター
ネット (Network and Internet)" category.
Under Windows Vista
Click (Start)→"接続先 (Dialup connection)".

Click "新しい接続またはネットワークのセットアップ (Setup new connection
or network)".
Under Windows Vista
Click "接続またはネットワークをセットアップします (Set up connection or network)".

Select "ワイヤレスネットワークに手動で接続します (Connect to Wireless
network manually)" and click "次へ (Next)".
･ To make wireless connection for the first time, on the "ワイヤレスネットワークに手動で接続します
(Connect to wireless network manually)" screen, change ワイヤレスアダプタ (Wireless adapter) to
"ワイヤレスネットワーク接続 (Wireless network connection)" and click "次へ (Next)".

Enter network information and click "次へ (Next)".
･ Set it to the same as "無線設定 (Wireless settings)" of the FOMA terminal.
- ネットワーク名 (Network name) : Enter the SSID set for the FOMA terminal.
- セキュリティの種類 (Security type), 暗号化の種類 (Encryption type) : Set "認証方式
(Authentication method)" information in the FOMA terminal. In "認証方式 (Authentication
method)", it is described in the format combining "セキュリティの種類 (Security type)" and "暗
号化の種類 (Encryption type)" settings. Select a corresponding setting. "パーソナル (Personal)"
in "セキュリティの種類 (Security type)" is the same meaning as "PSK".
- セキュリティキー (Security key) (For Windows Vista, "セキュリティキーまたはパスフレーズ
(Security key or pass phrase)" : Enter encryption key (WEP or PSK).

Click "閉じる (Close)".
■ To re-execute communication via Wi-Fi connection after disconnection
Under Windows 7
(Start)→"コントロールパネル (Control panel)"→"ネットワークの状態とタスクの表示 (Network status
and tasks)" in the "ネットワークとインターネット (Network and Internet)" category→On the "ネットワー
クと共有センター (Network and sharing center)" screen, "ネットワークに接続 (Connect to network)"→
Click a connection name on the screen→Click "接続 (Connect)".
Under Windows Vista
(Start)→"接続先 (Connection point)"→Select a connection point and click "接続 (Connect)".
